Ashton and Marcus Wedding on the beautiful grounds and Rip Van Winkle Gardens.  Wedding The Joseph Jefferson Mansion, built in 1870 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a charming twenty-two room Southern mansion, with a fourth-story cupola. Jefferson sited it among 350-year-old-oak trees high atop the salt dome, at an elevation of 75 feet above sea level - almost unheard of in the coastal areas of south Louisiana.

The home is an architectural treasure reflecting Moorish, Steamboat Gothic, French and Southern Plantation styles, harking to the Victorian age of elegance and grandeur. It stands as the centerpiece of the Gardens, and its richly appointed with heirlooms, period paintings, rare Louisiana pieces and fine examples of American and French Empire furniture.

We want you to enjoy the wedding experience at Rip Van Winkle Gardens; therefore, we treat your wedding as though it were our own. Experience has taught us that special attention to all of the details is the best way to ensure customer satisfaction. Our staff can assist you with all your bridal needs: bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner, reception, and a romantic night at one of our Acadian style Bed and Breakfast Cottages.

Facility Rentals

Facility rentals for weddings/receptions at Rip Van Winkle Gardens include the use of the Bayless Center or the Orangerie and a specified garden area and kitchen for a four hour period unless otherwise provided in your contract. For set-up, you are guaranteed access to these facilities from 9:00AM until time of your scheduled four-hour rental.  Other arrangements can be made with the management.

A 50% deposit on rental fees is required in order to confirm your date. All deposits are non-refundable. The remaining balance of the facility rental charge, beverage charges, and all equipment rentals is due thirty days prior to your function.; [email protected]
